Maggie Izzard Portrait Painter

Biography and CV

Maggie Izzard was born in Warwickshire and grew up in the village of Audlem in south Cheshire and after receiving her BA (hons) in graphic design at Manchester Metropolitan University she ran a graphic design business in London for many years. She specialised in publishing and marketing in the art and antique field, taking a strong interest in art, later studying printing and is now a mainly self taught portrait painter and artist working in oil on canvas or board.

Her work has been exhibited at the Royal Birmingham Society of Artists, the Mall Galleries in London, Keele University and more local exhibitions. She paints portraits of people in all fields to include academy, law, government, medicine, business & industry, religion, public figures, military, commerce and of course, private. She is one of the portrait painters available for commissions in local areas of Cheshire, and throughout the UK, especially for clients in London where a sitting can be done in one day in the subject’s home or professional environment. The opportunity to have a portrait painted is available to everybody.

Portraits of private, business, official or public figures can be commissioned and they are all at affordable prices. If you would like to know more please go to Commission a Portrait or Contact and Pricing page.

In her paintings she works with a brilliant, individual, true to life style which expresses a person’s individuality and personality through facial form, colouring and tone. She says “I convey in each portrait those special individual essences that belong to the sitter, capturing those recognisable characteristics. I find each subject inspiring and fascinating and nobody should feel self conscious about having a portrait painted.”
